A New York Cheesecake Legend

Jan Rosen was the original creator of the now famous cheesecake recipe for the restaurant she and her sister opened in 1983.  In 1984, the sisters delivered a cheesecake to their friend Dorothy Uhlemann in Hollywood. Dorothy just happened to be Frank Sinatra's personal assistant.  Dorothy shared the rich, creamy cheesecake with the buttery shortbread crust with Mr. Sinatra. The rest is history. For years, the J.M. Rosen Cheesecake was a favorite of Ol' Blue Eyes who frequently sought out his craving when in California.

Mr. Sinatra was such an avid fan of the J.M. Rosen Cheesecake, he talked it up with some of his favorite restaurants' owners.  Maude Chasen from Chasen's in Beverly Hills called and ordered a sample. One week later, Michele and Jan were regularly delivering cheesecakes to Chasen's, Matteo's, Frank and Musso's Grill, the Regent Beverly Wilshire and dozens more. 

Today all flavors of J.M. Rosen's Cheesecakes are still handmade. The same exquisite, melt-in-your-mouth shortbread crust is better than ever.  Over the years, J.M. Rosen's has introduced a variety of decadent desserts, all bearing Jan Rosen's "Trademark of Quality."
